What Is IB?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program is an academically challenging, two-year curriculum which begins during a student’s junior year of high school. The IB program aims to develop self-motivated, globally minded student inquirers who are well-prepared for the world’s premier colleges and universities and future career paths. Students who graduate with the IB Diploma are ready to excel in post-secondary school and often do so with a large number of college credits. |

The IB Curriculum
IB’s broad curriculum is comprised of six subject groups. Course schedules are designed to suit the student’s interests and include subjects like English, History, Mathematics, Spanish, Anthropology and more. IB students must take three Higher Level courses and three Standard Level courses during their junior and senior years. Pre-IB is a preparatory course of study for 9th and 10th graders who are on track to enter the IB program. Pre-IB students take enriched-level classes in core subjects, plus government/economics (freshman year) and an AP social sciences class (sophomore year). Pre-IB students are also encouraged to get involved in extracurricular activities and volunteer opportunities in the community.
